All Restrictions Released at Calder Race Course
Three barns at Calder Race Course were released from restriction on Monday, December 21, after three weeks with no evidence of spread of the Equine Herpes Type-1 Virus (EHV-1). The restrictions were implemented on November 29th after a sick horse was sent to the University of Florida and subsequently diagnosed with EHV-1. Precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus included enhanced bio-security, training restrictions on three exposed barns and testing of any horse showing signs of illness consistent with EHV-1 infection.
